Under the initiative of the world known fashion designer Johny Dar, the “Jeans for refugees” campaign will see the light of day.
More specifically, the famous artist was concerning about the well-being of thousands of refugees, over 65 million around the world. Thus, with the support of various celebrities organized an artistic fundraising in order to help these people in need economically. All the profits of the exhibition will be given to the International Rescue Committee (IRC). With the help of the Dubai-based agency White Water Public Relations, he managed to raise awareness for this movement and as result many UAE philanthropists supported the gesture. For this purpose, at least 101 celebrities are going to reinforce this action by donating their jeans in order to be painted by the artist, Johny Dar. Some of the famous people who are supporting this cause are going to be Kate Moss, Emma Watson, Vivienne Westwood, Daniel Radcliffe, Bella Hadid, Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, Sir Elton John, Sharon Stone, P!nk, Naomi Campbell, Carla Bruni, Usher and Victoria Beckham. Every finished jean-exhibit will be shown at the Saatchi Gallery in London, in October this year. By the closure of the event every piece of art will be auctioned at an online fundraiser where everybody can take part and help these people. Do not forget that this motion is to help the refugees in their time of need and that the money that will be made from this event will go to IRC initiatives. Dar will decorate these jeans as a live art performance in a refugee camp for 7 to 10 days. During this period he will not stop painting in order to explorer how much courage and strength is needed from the refugees to finish their trip and satisfy their goal in finding a new home and make a new beginning with their lives.
