After a lot of discussions and some pressure from Positive Montenegro, the successful greek investor Petros Stahis paid 411.000 in taxes and became the owner of Maestral hotel which is situated in Budva Riviera.
The Monterock, the company of Stathis is from yesterday 29 of December written in papers as the sole owner of the hotel after the sale from the Slovenian company HIT.
It seems that this new is positive for Montenegro and its tourism development as the dynamic entrepreneur intends to invest an important amount of money and reconstruct the resort. Specifically, Monterock stated that in the first phase they will invest about 10 million euros before summer and their plan is to invest 20 more after the tourist season.
The hotel won’t stop its operation, that’s why the reconstruction will be in stages. The big aim of Petros Stathis is to make Maestral get 5 stars instead of 4 that it has now!
As Monterock mentioned, they will keep the same management of Casino and it will be working as in past. The first phase of the reconstruction includes changes in the SPA center, the entrance and the lobby and in some infrastructure that is very old. After summer, a more serious renovation of the rooms will take place also in stages to ensure that the hotel will stay open.
According to sources, the number of the workers of the hotel will be increased, something very positive for employment in Montenegro. In general, the big impact that Petros Stathis has on economy of Montenegro is known as he is investor in Real Estate, Hospitality, Banking, Media, Technology and Food production.
The new director of Maestral, Hristos Tsemperas is another successful man with a huge experience in the field of hospitality. He is from a family of hoteliers and he has a career of over 30 years in the tourism industry in Greece, France, Egypt and Serbia.
