Political and economic cooperation between Montenegro and Qatar is in an upward trend, evaluated the Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development, Branimir Gvozdenovic, and Rashid Al-Kuwari, the newly appointed Ambassador of the country.

Gvozdenovic said that there are great opportunities to improve economic ties and open up new investment projects between the two countries, stressing the importance of introducing a direct airline to Montenegro.
Gvozdenovic and Kuwari discussed the aspects and possibilities of cooperation in the areas of tourism and investment, in addition to intensifying cooperation on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of tourism between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of Qatar.
The participants emphasized in particular their satisfaction with the dynamics of construction of the exclusive tourist complex Qatar Diar in Tivat, noting that this extremely valuable project will be a good example to other investors for high-quality and profitable investment in Montenegro.
Minister Gvozdenovic added it is needed to facilitate and extend the visa regime for citizens of Qatar, which currently applies to the period from April to October, so that Montenegro can be visited by more tourists from that country.Qatari Ambassador expressed confidence that during his diplomatic mandate great progress in political dialogue and economic cooperation between the two countries will be realized, and announced the arrival of Qatar businessmen in March next year.
He also invited Montenegrin businessmen to engage more actively in a number of infrastructure projects for the football World Cup, which will be held in 2022 in Qatar – and for the first time in the Middle East. The interlocutors expressed expectations that good and intensive cooperation between Qatar and Montenegro will be continued in all fields, and in the interest of the two friendly countries.
