As indicated by the statistics of Monstat, Montenegro has seen an increase in the number of tourists comparing to last year’s data.
More specifically, 116.9 people visited Montenegro in the first four months of 2016, which is 9.9 percent more visitors than the same period a year ago.Only the visitors from other countries were the 80.3 percent of the total number of people who visited the country, this year. In particular, 81% of the total 428.39 overnight guests was recorded as foreigners. In general, the number of overnight stays was 11.2% higher comparing to the same period last year, whereas foreign guests were 13.2 % more than the comparative period. Moreover, as the number of Israel visitors concerns, it was increased approximately 4.8 times in the first quarter of the year. Norwegian travelers visited Montenegro 3.6 times more. Likewise, there was an increase of the percentages of the British visitors, Swedish, Albanian and French. On the contrary, there was a drop on the number of Finnish travelers, Swiss, German and Slovenian. Furthermore, guests from the regional area who visited the country were from Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an increase of 21.1 %, 66.5 %, 15% and 9.8% respectively than the previous year. Last but not least, the greater recorded number of guests to the country was in Kotor where there was twice as many tourists as the previous year. Other regions that followed that increase of guests comparing to the previous year was Tivat, Budva, Ulcinj, Bar and Herceg Novi.
